Because of my sometimes pretty kick-ass job I just spent my third year showing up INVITED to the New York Toy Fair which, is really no easy task. I might be able to squeeze my way in based on just ToyBozo alone but that'd be a lot of papers to sign and e-mails to write I'm sure and I am too lazy. Instead, I go to get some work done, wear myself out to the point of big mouthed deliriousness and see a bunch of toys up close that wouldn't normally be seen that way until their release. Below are the things as I walked around that I enjoyed and had a moment to snap a picture or two of. There were tons of great things I didn't bother to take a picture of so that pretty much means I thought most of these things were incredible (I am pissed that I didn't get to take a picture of the in-scale Talky Tina.)

Absolutely the BEST toys of the day, bar none, were the upcoming Gremlins from NECA. I am a huge NECA fan in the first place, but not since World of Springfield came out when I was in 8th grade have I wanted to own an entire line of figures. There is not one Gremlin I couldn't justify owning. Not even this goofy son of a bitch, or, as I have nicknamed him over the years, "The Andre Gremlin":

And I do already own the "pre-serum" Mohawk figure, but I'm ready to ditch him in favor of his monstrous counterpart.
After I stopped drooling over these I did come across a few cool Star Wars toys. I haven't really liked Star Wars since the Unleashed figures and the 2002 magnetic lightsaber line, but this big ass Mace Windu was pretty awesome, even though I couldn't get too clear of a picture of it:
Also, I have no idea what this was for because I couldn't even take a second to stop and see what I was looking at, but I would trade everything toy related I have owned, ever, to come home to this every day (maybe...probably):
Amazing. Moving on, I did see some GOOD Ghostbusters Mini-Mates this time around. I'm not really a huge Mini-Mates fan, but these are pretty fitting and definitely outdo the Mattel attempt at Real Ghostbusters which I thought were not uninspired, but misdirected:
THOSE are Ghostbusters toys I would've gone apeshit over as a kid. If only the toy thought process was as advanced back then! If those are easily accessible I could definitely see those being Ghostbusters toys I actually pick up.Of course, I wouldn't be who I am without getting an eye full of Mattel's ongoing Ghostbusters line. I still have yet to own a figure from this line and I don't see that changing, but I definitely got to see their best 12 inch figure yet. Congratulations, Winston, you are finally top dog:

Also on display were the ghosts that come with different figures and I'm not sure who she's included with but the librarian was there in all of her frightening glory. If ghosts were available individually, I would be going out of my way to get not only the Scoleri Brothers I have now missed out on, but this great Eleanor Twitty:

Also on display amongst a sea of WWE figures I don't really want any of (you're the exception, American Dragon) and DC figures I will absolutely never own was a continuation of the Movie Masters line that kind of surprised and excited me. I'm bummed because I am really holding out for a Keaton Batman, but a Gary Oldman Jim Gordon is absolutely a step in the right direction:
I wonder if that hand gun will make it into the final product? I hope so. It's funny because the only Movie Masters figures I ended up keeping were the Bank Robbery Joker and the Harvey Dent. The rest of them I just ended up not caring much about, and that includes the unmasked Batman I have (had? I have no idea where it is). This line used to be something I wanted and then just grew underwhelming for me. Gordon is pretty sweet, though, hard to go wrong there.OH YEAH! I've seen a few things at Toy Fair that were pretty amazing like Insta Snow and a giant contraption that propelled Mentos and Diet Coke rockets, but nothing has ever spoken directly to my beating heart quite like this FLYING MOTHER FUCKING SHARK:

And that's probably the item that I will own duplicates of incase one breaks. Overall some pretty cool stuff here and some pretty rad stuff there. If you could buy samples on the spot I would have probably wasted some cheese as I walked around. But, I am ok with being patient and running into some of these things (hopefully) in the future.
I still hate the Javitz Center more than any building I have ever set foot in, but...could it slowly be turning into a friendship?
No. No, it couldn't.
